another monday morning, another start to the week, always so much to do, so little time, action packed days at work are good but a break is always more than welcome. this coming weekend is going to be awesome, i look forward to the coming weekend more than I usually look forward to my weekends, because it's a road trip up to newcastle, with S - wil report back on details of the trip. shall be fun fun fun! =)
had a great weekend too, bought a few dresses at markets and they're so pretty, bought another summery dress as well, for a bargain price of $1.50! ha, that's right! bargain ey?! I love shopping =)
Can you believe it, it's been 6 months already, SIX!!!
Weirdly enough, and everything that I'm about to express has never been told before, but I'm actually really grateful to have him in my life, I feel good and I actually want to spend more time with him.
We had a fantastic day yesterday, went to the park for brunch, was fun, we ate:
crossiant
waffles with maple syrup and jam
white chocolate and berry scone (bakers delight)
blueberries
pomegranete
grapes (red and green, seedless - my fav)
yoghurt with berries and crunchy oats
strawberries
orange juice
water
was pretty good... baby knows my fav foods hehe
later, we went to the burwood, bummed a bit, went to check out some clothes, I feel like I've gained weight and am fatter =(
Will have to try and control myself with food, which is the one thing I love =(
Anyways, we then shared KFC (late lunch) and watched a korean movie - was fun
6 months anniversary dinner was al aseel lebanese food, we had:
falafels - very nice and crunchy, perfect with the tahini sauce
grilled or BBQ'ed calamari rings on a bed of salad, so juicy, and the flavour was awesome, could have ate so much of that
mixed grill platter, lots of meat, with baba juana, some other dipping chick pea sauce and tabouli...
complimentary turkish bread and pickles platter
So full, so much left over, baby's lunch was there. want to take vic+liz or lily+carl some day, should be lots of fun!
So, I was telling Trace about how epic my cheesy garlic was. It was absolutely awesomeness - but as mentioned before, I wanted it to be more garlicky in flavour, we have come to the solution that I will add: crushed garlic to bring out the flavour and more oregano so it's herby too.
Will attempt to make this tonight, it's going to be THE MOST EPIC CHEESY GARLIC BREAD EVER! mwahahahhahahahaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa
the chessy garlic bread i made last night was awesome, can't wait to have more, except how to make it more garlicky and less buttery! For those who know me, I hate butter, I don't eat butter, the only time butter is good is when I have it as garlic butter/bread... it has to be extra herby and garlicky!
I actually miss Mimmo's pizza place near vic's, the garlic starter pizza we had last time was awesome =) gonna go back for more. I love pizza, I must have been Italian or some European descent of some sort in my last life...
Other foods I love and am currently craving include:
seafood paella from O Pescador Portuguese Seafood Grill Bar (Petersham)
Lebanese food at Al Aseel (Lakemba)
caesar salad and pizza at Mimmo's (Brookvale)
breakfast/brunch idea I told S to prepare for public holiday Monday YAY! - can't wait
On a totally different note, S asked me to meet his parents, S told me that his parents are dying to meet me and just want to get to know what I'm like. I'm sure that's a good thing right? but for some unknown reason, I'm actually a bit scared. Need to talk to vic and LiLY!
Sorry for the belated update, I am going to try again and this time, hopefully, I won't suddenly lose the page *tsk tsk
Recount:
So, on Friday night (4/9/09) I met up with Lee, had dinner, got take out for Nancy, visited her at her new apartment on sussex st, so close to chinatown, I could prob smell the food being cooked in takeru lol
On Saturday (5/9/09), met up with S in the morning, went to woolies to get stuff for a picnic, S took me for a picnic lunch, we had so much to eat lol we bought:
bread
smoked salmon
potato salad
fresh raspberries
kalamata olives
antipasto
juice
water
berry yoghurt with crunchy bits
castello cheese
harris farm rice crackers/ crispbread
red lea BBQ chicken ribs
Apparently, he planned to go to RNP for rowing etc after a picnic, but I had a headache, so we went to Olympic Park instead, beautiful day, full of sunshine and it was fabulous!
we just fluffed around the whole day, went to Pelican Quay to have a walk along waters, and we fell asleep in the car, it was bad, we were locked inside the carpark! =( Thank God there were some fisherman who needed to get out as well, they apparently had a key to the lock, but because the council decided to change the lock and not notify they or give them a new one, they got pissed, and pretty much, all 4 stooges just hacked the lock, broke it and YAY! we could get out. It was pretty eventful, I felt like my car was going to get scratched either way in order to get out, thank God it worked out ok in the end.
We weren't hungry, coz we ate so much for the picnic lunch, but decided to go for a light snack... so... we went to five dock maccas and had my long anticipated "angus burger"... I have to say, for someone who doesn't usually enjoy maccas, but eats it coz I'm starving and it's easy, the angus burger was pretty good. S and I both don't really eat beef, and we both enjoyed the burger really much. It still had a slight Big Mac taste to it, but we'll definitely be back for more mwahahaha
On Sunday (6/9/09), S came and picked me up, silly me, got the movie times wrong, so we went shopping instead, I got a new pillow, coz I'm been complaining how I needed a new one =)
Then we went to Adriano Zumbo's patisserie in Balmain for lunch, S had the quiche again, he is addicted, while I had the toasted turkey and brie sandwich, it was really good. We got some cakes from there as well, it was really nice... We then went for a walk down by the waters on Balmain park (?) it was a really beautiful day, a bit windy, but none-the-less beautiful. lots of kids in the park with their parents, lots of doggies and their owners, many familes having picnics with their kids near the playground. beautiful views of the waters and the harbour bridge...
Was going to catch a film in the city, but unfortunately, nothing was really showing, so we shopped around instead...
Then, it was dinner at the mystery place... Souk in the city.... we spent some time driving there and getting ready, well at least I had to transform from day to night look hehe
The place was really nice, apparently it was his sister's recommendation. I enjoyed the food and cocktails, we had the following:
Entrée (to share):
B'stilla fassia filo pastry, filled with fragrant almond chicken, infused with rose water and cinnamon, served with delicate orange and saffron sc.
Main:
Corn fed chicken tagine, cooked with olives, saffron, and preserved lemon, crispy lavender potatoes
Pomegranate & Rosewater Martini – Vodka, Pomegranate Liquer, Pomegranate Juice shaken with fragrant rosewater
Passionate Sensual – Absolute Raspberry, Lychee Soho muddled with fresh lychee, mint and mix berries
The atmosphere was absolutely beautiful! So romantic =) Thank you S *mwah
Monday(7/9/09) was my bday YAY! Went to work as usual BOO!
At work, there was a Cambodia cafe fundraising event, $15 a ticket for buffet cambodian food, it was alright, nothing spectacular, but fun! I won a dinner for two at Sambal, the malaysian restaurant as part of the fundraiser hehe... Colleagues at work ordered this awesome chocolate tart cake thing for me, it was really delish!
Afterwork, had dinner with my family at a local japanese/ korean restaurant, it was ok, we had sashimi boat, cold noodles, katsu don obento set, seafood hotpot. I got a black forest cake from 85 (degrees) - it was pretty nice.
At this stage, I'm feeling pretty stuffed with food already, really starting to get sick of eating out and CAKE, OMG, I have never in my life felt sick of cake =(
Anyways, Tuesday night (8/9/09), had dinner with LiLY at Rise (darlinghurst) for a 7 course degustation, it was really nice. I'm in love... the courses included:
Appetizer Steamed pork belly salad with tofy & witlof
Soup Coconut soup with green tea tapioca & prawn tortellini
Sashimi Assorted today's fresh market sashimi - we had salmon, oyster and kingfish
Seasonal plate Egg flan, mushroom & miso red curry sauce RicePaperRoll of marinated tuna&"ume"plum vinaigrette Fish cake with green papaya salad
Pasta dish Grilled polenta, scallop tempura & chunyan chilli sauce
Main Course Braised beef rolled with savoy cabbage, potato croquette & tomato curry sauce
Dessert Today's dessert - which was panna cotta (my fav) with pear and cherries
Drinks, LiLY had Lychee caipiroska - lychee caiprioska with peraine & vodka. I had the Umeshu on the Rocks - Japanese plum wine on the rocks, both very yummy =)
I really enjoyed it and I think LiLY enjoyed it heaps too, we talked abt Carl, S and other little things in our life haha
Wednesday night(9/9/09) was spent home for a home cooked meal, was getting a bit sick of eating out seriously! I just wanted congee - plus vic and liz couldn't make it hehe so yeah
Thursday night (10/9/09), I spent time with my beloved Lydia (duckster) YAY!!! She flew all the way from sgp/ indo and saw me =) It was really fun, we caught up, had dinner at George's cafe, because I had a craving hehe, wanted the chicken parmagiana and the bread with olive tapenade, it was delish and she really enjoyed it too, so I'm glad... miss her so much... then we went shopping, we're both so poor and we were buying cheap clothes hehe, until the shops closed at 9pm, so I drove her back to her hotel in the city and then went home myself, it was good fun and we discussed our holiday to asia next yr =) can't wait...
Friday night (11/9/09) was meant to be dinner with my ex workmates, but we had to postpone that coz of ramadan, if taimur and B can't be there, we might as well postpone...
Saturday night (12/9/09) - had dinner with uni friends, went to Arisan at eastwood for korean food, it was really good... the only problem with the place is you need a huge crowd to order a few good dishes as the portions are huge. not a place for couples really, coz you can only pretty much have two dishes and that's it - you could probably doggy bag heaps too =) Then we went to Edrick's place to watch Ponyo, interesting anime hehe I left at abt 11.30ish, was so tired, Kenn thought I was going to collapse any minute haha
Finally, last but not least, on Friday night (18/9/09), A, K, S and I had dinner at Napoli in Bocca (Haberfield)... so good, I miss their pizzas there... haven't been in a while so it was a good feeling. So filling, so fun...
So as you can see, from my plans below, I did most of it! had a really eventful 25th bday and thank you all! esp for the presents too, which I will blog abt later =)
4/9 fri - drinks with work ppl, dinner with Lee and Nancy 5/9 sat - day with S 6/9 sun - whole day with S (apparently we're going somewhere special for dinner?!) 7/9 mon - family *sigh* 8/9 tues - dinner with LiLY 9/9 weds - dinner with vic n liz (postponed as liz is working late) 10/9 thurs - dinner with Lydia (all the way from Sgp/ jkt) 11/9 fri - dinner with old work mates (postponed due to ramadan) 12/9 sat - movie and dinner with uni friends 18/9 fri - dinner with A and K
I am constantly avoiding going home these days, or just being home coz I'm not sure what to expect e.g.
paul (sis's bf) sleeping over but noone tells me so I'm walking around braless in the morning! - that happened THIS MORNING!!!
p always having dinner at our place - I'm sick of providing for those that I don't have to
sis giving me attitude when her bf's over, coz she's so cool and thinks she's better than me (bf that mum approves of)
and I don't like it... I really dont! I don't feel like my house is my home, it's a place that i go back to every night to sleep in but I don't feel "homely" It's a place where I can stay at home on the wkends, if he isn't coming over to bum It's a place that I don't acutally enjoy staying at...
But it's not the place that's making me feel crap, it's my sister! I hate her, she's so insensitive, she stomps around like the world is meant to be hers and everyone has to do her favours or else it's "black face" and attitude. A pretty self centred bitch!
I hate driving her to work everyday, I hate having to pick her up, I hate it when she wants to befriend you, she's all nice but when she doesn't feel like it coz she's in a bad mood, she's all bitchy to you. I have stopped talking to her in general, I don't respond to the stuff she says, I hate even seeing her!
I'm a bit sick of everything! No one really understands though, too hard to tell anyone, no one gets it!
My escape seems to be spending time with S, I feel respected, like a human, not used (stupid mum and sis) but actually appreciated!
First of all, RANT! I wrote a whole entry on all the things that have been happening, well from my bday wkend anyways, but I dunno what happened, somehow I got distracted and probably (ok, I must have) went to some other webpage, and totally left this blog entry one without saving it! GRH!!!
Anyways, so I'm angry and can't be stuffed to write it out all over again... so instead, I'm going to talk abt my current craving... MI GORENG!!! (all from reading a thread on vogue about it... ai)
I love the packet stuff and also the fresh, good restaurant stuff too, so my plan is to make 2 versions and taste test them in the same controlled environment haha
Now we all know how to make the indomie mi goreng, so no need for instructions here.
And the recipe I got off a voguette:
packet of hokkien noodles seafood or chicken 1 diced onion 1 small chopped chilli (or none if you dont like spicy) olive oil 2 tablespoons of soy sauce and tomato sauce 1 tablespoon of chilli sauce (or however much you like) 2 boiled potatos cubed some tofu, as much as you like 1-2 tomatoes some salt, a little brown sugar and tumeric 1-2 eggs whisked few handfuls of bean sprouts some green vegies, i like snow peas spring onions chopped lime for taste fried garlic
i just fry up the onions with some oil, add the chicken/seafood, the bean sprouts and chilli then add all the sauces/sugar/salt. Then add the potatoes, tofu and tomatoes and cook for a little while. Dropped the noodles into boiled water for 1-2 mins then add to the mixture, stir fry a little. Add the green vegies and stir fry abit then at the end make a space in the wok for the egg, cooked it for 10-20secs then mix all the noodles etc over the top of it. Add lemon juice and sprinkle on the garlic to serve. So delicious and really quick!
Sounds yummy and easy to make... love the idea of all the eggs and everything!

Quote of the day:Your sarcastic insinuations are too highly obnoxious to be philosophically accepted by my superior intellect.. In layman terms.. so someone like you can understand… FUCK OFF! … (and always say that last bit with a smile!!!)
