Happy new year everyone!

I've been at work for the last few hours and just trying to not bludge much, but that's proving to be super hard!

Have been reflecting on all the little and big things that have happened throughout 2009 and I have to say, it's one of those BIG yrs!

Just a simple recount on 2009:

• I have established and identified the fact that some things will never change i.e. mum and my family issues, I just have to learn to get over it and not let it bother me - this is definitely my #1 new yrs resolution
• I've been on many awesome little trips this yr thanks to S and my friends
• I really enjoy spending time with my friends (uni i.e. kenn and co) over S, not that I don't like S, but I don't have the trouble of always being scared of being caught by my sis and her friends
• I cherish the awesome relationship I have with my close friends - I hope things between us all can only get better! really, I am so thankful for great friends
  
• I look forward to future trips with friends
• I have really enjoyed working and have developed great relationships with colleagues - it's great
• I have developed skills for work and look forward to further getting better at my job (if that even makes sense haha)
• I understand a lot more throughout this year, 2009 has definitely been a learning year
• I have noticed that I've matured and I feel great, knowing that I understand more, knowing that I see things from a different light, knowing that I'm getting there to being a better person
  

This is going to be my final post for this blog because I have decided 2010 has been a decade since the millenium, it's been a long time and I've experienced heaps of ups and (much more) downs throughout the 5 years I've had this blog (since 2005).

I hope 2009 will end all bad or negativity and 2010 and beyond will be fresh, fun, fantastic and most importantly FILLED WITH POSITIVE ENERGY!

OMG, everyone's so christmassy and all. I've received so many goodies from my colleagues etc like baked gingerbreadmans, candy cane soaps, chocolates, gift cards, Leona Edminston chocolates (that was impressive) lol, cookbooks (due to my "wai sik") lol

To all of those out there that regularly follow my blog, either because I've given you the web address or just because you've stumbled across this, I'm proud to say I think I get it now

After blogging about heaps of crappy things in life in general, I've learnt to take a totally different view on a lot of things thanks to my colleague, salty pineapple. Shes made a good point in a small incident which I told her about and after generalising her comments to my other issues, I can see the light at the end of the tunnel and I actually feel better.

The most important issue I have to solve re S is not being seen when we're out, but other than that, I'm good. I don't care that much about things that I've held onto so tightly before.

I feel as if 2010 is just going to be a better yr!

I recently read a really interesting post by a fellow voguette, and she seems to be having the same problems I've been experiencing for the past *counts, and loses count* how many yrs... it's abt family issues, expectations, mothers living their lives through ours, wanting the best for us but because of these expectations - it makes our lives just that much harder!

I am now learning to be better, to be stronger, to not let all the crap that goes on affect me.

I will be stronger and I look forward to the day where I can break free and not care about the crap that goes on esp with my family.

these days I've been making various bargain purchases of make up and nice toiletries etc... and honestly speaking, some great, some not so great.

firstly, the heated eyelash curler - it's ok, a bit overrated and I'm not sure I'd be permanently using this. Tried it last night, it wasn't working for a while, and then I figured the problem, the battery lol
Anyways, it's ok, it curls it nice, not sure how long it can make the curl last.

some other toiletries etc were really nice, like bath gift packs etc I'm planning on giving them to my colleagues as chrissy presents anyways, so that's super cool.

i want to get a good mascara, that will give me volume, the recent one i got from clinique is just length, which I have plenty of (for an asian anyways)

ok, really not in the mood to blog now, except i want to catch up with liz and vic...

my sis's friend, H, has been coming over quite often to help my sis with her make up and she's got this awesome heated eyelash curler, that I never knew existed, but am quite keen to be a (soon-to-be) proud owner... looking at getting the Manicare Heated Lash Curler

I painted my toes last night, it's so pretty now, the colour I'm now wearing is dark plum, so rich and sparkly but dark... my toes are so pretty!!!

I want to go shopping tonight, I want to go with S but since my sis is going out tonight, it's highly possible that she's going shopping with her bf for her new job and they'll bump into us and I'll be in trouble.

Speaking of which, I have learnt in the last couple of weeks that when you start a new job, you need to acquire the following things:

• make up - lots of it, and pretty much get a professional to tell you what is needed to suit your face, skin colour, etc, then please proceed to eBay, SN, sasa, etc with your super long list to purchase all those things needed... make sure you cross off what you've bought so you know what you've got and what you still need.
  
• clothes - like 2 new suits, and lots of business shirts, lots of skirts, jackets, etc
  and while buying all those essential items, you will stumble across dresses, cocktail dresses, shoes, sandals, t shirts, scarves, etc that are really cheap and just a bargain buy you can't resist and hand them over to your bf to pay for
  
• shoes - you will need to look high and low for shoes that are suitable for work and pick up a pair of dressy heels, since it suits that cocktail dress you stumbled across and bought.
  

and who pays the bill?
Of course the boyfriend does.
(his credit card details are permanently saved in her shopping accounts, etc)

I was telling mum how ridiculous I found her shopping adventures to be lately, it's like she is the only person that has a new job and she needs to buy a whole new wardrobe just to make it to work, and she hasn't even started.

I made it clear that if it wasn't for her bf paying all the stuff that she's buying, etc, as well as chaufeuring her to whereever she wants to shop at, she wouldn't have been able to buy all those essential items!

Mum totally agreed with me.

I even compared and told her how I've been wearing practically the same work clothes for the past 3 years, starting off with only 1 business shirt, 2 skirts and 1 pair of corporate looking pants/slacks and 1 pair of heels. That was it, and slowly, I built my corporate wardrobe over 3 years. I survived fine. My first suit was after a year and a bit when I knew I desperately needed one, because I was attending so many external meetings and my simple corporate outfits weren't going to make it.
My first meeting (in Brisbane with DoHA members) that required a suit, I wore some crappy jacket and matched a similar skirt. It was pretty dodgy.

I am in true disbelief that my sister will not survive her first job if she doesn't have all the stuff she is currently buying.

I assure you, if he wasn't here, she would be so much simplier, satisfied and a less arrogant person.

I guess I have come to the recent conclusion that my sister is a bitch because she has a bf that supports her in every single way, including spending his money like there's no tmr.

If it was up to her to decide what she can spend or can't, she'll be just like me, skimping and just relying on the bare basics.

had the best dinner in a long time, had dominos pizza with S last night, except for rushing home and not having enough cheesy garlic bread, I had fun last night!

I'm officially sick of working today, no motivation what-so-ever, I just want to go shopping or have fish and chips at the beach/wharf (Brighton-Le-Sands is a good option)

wanted to actually jig work with S and go bum, particularly on such a beautiful day, but he is a good boy, didn't want to =(

Anyways, a tad hungry, will munch on some Lindt chocolate now =)
